BARCODES
The object of Barcodes is to change the label which has been given to music for percussion, a music that is sometimes considered "boring and difficult to listen to". For this reason, the concerts proposed by this duo present a very varied program, conceived above all for a common listener and not just for a music specialist.
Musical styles, origins and different instruments attribute to this duo their foremost characteristic: versatility.
Every Barcodes concert is a unique experience: its staging is in fact studied and synchronized from both the musical and the visual point of view. In this way, the public that approaches this type of music for the first time lives a complete sensorial experience.
SAGRA DELLE COSE STRANE
Sagra delle Cose Strane is a ensemble that composes its own instrumental music for piano, marimba and classic guitar.
The project takes form from the different musical experiences of its components and unusual instrumentation.
The ensemble also works with various companies and individuals in the field of theater, dance and film companies.
RELEASES AND COLLABORATIONS
CRESCENDO
Crescendo is the gerund of the Italian verb "to grow". I chose this title for its symbolic value, as I think it reflects my "growing up" both as an artist and as a person.
Twelve are the months of the year; each of them marks the passage of time, or better, the tiny segments that make up our daily lives. I have come to think of these pieces as small distillation flasks, each containing the essence of my life and my story.
The album represents the outcome of a journey that began with the discovery of the marimba. The path I have been has led to great honours, including my participation in some international competitions. The album is also the result of the collaboration with old and new friends, and musicians with whom I have shared ideas and experiences.
I cannot deny that these pieces are also influenced by my "Italianness”, a feeling that somehow involves preferring tonal and melodic songs to atonal music.
I am saying this with all due respect for modern and contemporary music, but also without shame, as the luggage that I have been carrying along with me throughout my journey contains what I hold dearest of my past.
Listening to these songs makes me happy as it reminds me of the big and small emotions I have felt, but also conjures up the memory of the disappointments, the sacrifices, and the efforts that went into putting this album together. None of this would have been possible without the help and support of my family.
